Description

Required Skills:  

  • Active Secret clearance or holds an interim Secret clearance 
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Compliant (Security+ or greater certification) 
  • 3 - 5 years of MS Access Database Management System (DBMS) 2003, 2007, 2010, 2013 hands-on in-depth knowledge/experience
  • 3 - 5 years of Microsoft SQL Server 2005, 2008 R2, and 2012 hands-on in-depth knowledge/experience
  • 3+ years of experience working with computers and troubleshooting user issues
  • Ability to carry/move IT equipment to/from storage and to end-user desk/office locations
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and interaction skills, both over the phone and in person

Preferred Skills:

  • 2 or 4 year degree preferred
  • 1 - 2 years of experience installing VPN clients and troubleshooting VPN issues
  • Working knowledge of DB account management including maintaining roles and privileges in a high-security environment
  • Experience with and able to navigate Active directory
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint system
  • Working knowledge of Remedy trouble ticketing system
  • Military experience preferred due to the high-profile position in support of senior military and civilian leadership

Position Description:
Database Administrator (DBA), Computer Support Technician, and other duties as assigned

Database Administrator (DBA) Responsibilities:

  • Perform SQL Server maintenance activities including patching, backups, and assisting with account issues
  • Integrate and maintain existing Access (.mdb) file(s) to local SQL Server database(s)
  • Create, upgrade, normalize, and patch existing databases as required
  • Create and manage scripts including Database Checks, Indexes Rebuild, Get Database Sizes, and others as needed/required/directed
  • Monitor organizational databases for invalid objects, space issues, and poorly performing queries
  • Perform Backup/Import/Export/Clone of database instances

Computer Support Technician Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot computers running Windows 7 and 10 operating systems
  • Troubleshoot user issues with the Microsoft Office Suite of products
  • Troubleshoot wireless and wired LAN/WAN connectivity
  • Troubleshoot computers running Windows 7 and 10 operating systems
  • Diagnose and correct PC hardware and software issues i.e. printers, drivers, smartcard readers, external disk drives, speakers, and monitors 
  • Diagnose and repair PC peripheral units when necessary replacing/installing internal parts i.e. CD/DVD drives, network and video cards
  • Replace fuser, transfer kits, and print/toner cartridges in printers
  • Install/Uninstall software as required

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Resolve simple issues over the phone and identify/categorize more complex user problems
  • Work with vendors on defective parts or devices under warranty
  • Provide weekly activity reports describing activities accomplished and pending issues
  • Provide other reports to Inserso Managers/Site Lead upon request
