Inserso Corporation, a 300-person Small Business providing IT services to the federal government, is looking for a Human Resource Specialist to support our HR practices, including benefits administration, training, performance reviews, employee communications, and employee cultural activities. This position will assist the Human Resource Manager in all facets of human resource management with a day-to-day focus in payroll and benefits administration. 
Specific responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the primary administrator for the HR department’s electronic data in both the HRM and DMS; ensure records are up-to-date and complete.
  • Serves as liaison to Accounting/Finance department regarding benefit deduction adjustments and other data changes on semi-monthly payroll.
  • Provide timely and responsive service to staff seeking assistance on HR or employment-related matters. 
  • Explain benefits programs, enroll/terminate employee coverage under medical, dental, and vision plans, and provide coverage information to employees for enrollment, termination, and qualifying events.
  • FSA and COBRA administration.
  • Initiate new hire onboarding process and ensure all new hire employment documents are completed (new hire data form, confidentiality agreement, I9 verification form, benefit forms, etc.).
  • Create/update standard operating procedures and internal job aides.
  • Make recommendations on workflow processes within HRIS system and generating efficiencies in HR processes; 
  • Manage employee celebrations/milestones (e.g., birthdays, work anniversaries, etc.).
  • Assist with employee relations activities, such as rewards and recognition programs, and corporate events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • BA/BS degree in business or human resources. 
  • Five to seven years of relevant professional experience, preferably in a human resource department supporting a federal contractor. 
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, meet strict deadlines, recognize potential problems and proactively suggest ways to mitigate them and anticipate needs
  • Strong organizational skills, verbal, written and inter-personal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of relevant HR laws and HR regulations governing federal IT support contracts (i.e. OFCCP, VETS, etc.)
  • Credentials to obtain a security clearance.
